See that dark brown spot on my leg? I self diagnosed myself with melanoma last year using the “abcde’s” of “is that mole cancerous” guide I read about in women’s magazines every summer. Anyway, I went to the doctor (after agonizing for MONTHS) and I’m fine. Lesson learned—don’t agonize, just go to the doctor. It’s better to know either way, right? (By the way, that mole looks WAY weirder in person).
Four things about me that others find strange
1) I don’t have a facebook page. 2) I’ve never had a professional mani/pedi. 3) I’ve been with the same guy 8 years and we’re not engaged, although we do plan on getting married. 4) I don’t like sushi. EVERYONE loves sushi.
Isn’t it sad ….
That I’m 30 and have never been outside the US? Not even some trashy spring break trip to cancun. I almost went to Australia after I graduated but things fell through. Went to Boston instead. I wonder how different my life would be had I gone abroad.
Travel books
I love to read travel books. Over and over again. To make that fact even more sad, I only read American city books. And they have to be frommers, because they update every year. I own 18 frommers complete books. One for every American city they have. I also have a few frommers day by day books to supplement the complete guides.
I absolutely love to travel. The last trip I took was to Seattle about a year ago. Seattle is beautiful (duh). I love every place I travel and decide I want to move there. Told Chad last year that the next place we move to must have a frommers guide devoted to it. And NO the frommers complete STATES don’t count.
I also said the city needed to have a trader joes.
So how did I end up in Dallas?
Hello Thursday. I am waiting to hear about a job—they told me to expect a call “end of the week” …
Anyway, might as well enjoy some pool time on a Thursday afternoon while I can!
Yes I’m feeling cautiously optimistic …
By the way, I have not been poolside since august 2008. Glad to be back to warm weather.
I want to get excited about the second Sex & The City movie. I’m watching reruns on TBS right now. I loved SATC on HBO and have all the DVDs in the series. I loved the first movie. But I feel really “ehh” about the second one. I mean, it just seems so silly in the commercials, the women traipsing around the Middle East and riding on camels in the desert. It’s desparate and embarassing.
So instead of the chocolate Krispy Kreme I decided to have oatmeal. I ALWAYS have two packets per serving. I combine two different flavors from the multi-flavor box. Fave combo is apples & cinnamon with maple & brown sugar.
Milo, my buddy. All grown up. But not too old to cuddle on the couch with mommy. All day. Best thing about unemployment.
Krispy Kreme
Today I went to Krispy Kreme and got their two special flavors of the month. They’re both yummy but the one that’s most unique is the Smores flavor. I LOVE this donut. It has marshmallow filling and chocolate icing with graham cracker crumbles on top. I put it in the microwave for 8 seconds and try and force myself to eat it as slowly as possible.
The other flavor I got is chocolate fudge cake. This one isn’t really that unique. Chocolate cake with icing and chocolate sprinkles. Still good though.
So I ate the smores one hours ago and now its 11:15 pm and I really want to eat the other one. But I’m trying to save it til morning. Something to get out of bed for.
